National Institute on Aging

2019-2020

Background

The goal of this National Institute on Aging summit, which was held as a virtual series on July 10, July 21, and August 13, 2020, was to bring together individuals with a variety of backgrounds to identify evidence-based programs, strategies, approaches, and other research that can be used to improve the care, services, and supports of persons with dementia and their caregivers.

How We Helped

As the technical and logistics coordinator, RLA supported a this 3-day Summit, which spanned several weeks to avoid screen burnout and featuring a virtual Twitter poster session. This summit offered 26 presentations over three 3-hour meetings and averaged up to 1,000 viewers per session, with each webinar captioned for Section 508/ADA compliance. For each virtual session, RLA managed registration, produced the run-of-show documents, prepared an online meeting platform “how-to” document, and managed rehearsals and other training sessions with speakers. Our technical team worked with poster presenters for the Twitter session, provided all video and caption files needed for uploading to YouTube within 3 business days of each session, and delivered the chat transcript. Further, RLA produced the summary report.
