National Institute on Aging

2013

Background

The National Institute on Aging (NIA), Association for Psychological Science, White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, and the White House Council of Economic Advisers convened a meeting of eminent scientists from the fields of psychology and behavioral economics to highlight the potential for social and behavioral research to play a more influential role in the service of public policy, discuss strategies for bringing important research findings to the attention of policy makers, and identify lessons that can be learned from approaches being used in the United Kingdom.

How We Helped

RLA attended the meeting, took extensive notes, and drafted a meeting summary incorporating the scientific presentations and discussion sessions. Given the high profile nature of this meeting, RLA managed a rigorous revision and editing process ensuring feedback from the sponsors and individual speakers was incorporated into the final report.
