Dr. Lee provides strategic leadership, management oversight, and staff training and supervision for RLA’s Division of Scientific Research & Analysis (SRA). Dr. Lee applies his expertise in research analysis and management to oversee a growing portfolio of SRA projects in research administration, science management, and grants management process improvement and training. Dr. Lee’s previous experience includes serving as a Program Director at the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute for 12 years, as well as leadership roles at the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering and the National Institute of Standards and Technology. Dr. Lee earned his PhD in mechanical engineering, with a focus on combustion, from the University of California, Davis and completed his graduate research while serving as a visiting researcher at Princeton University.
