Dr. Sylvia produces and edits a variety of written material for RLA and its government and corporate clients (e.g., meeting summaries, white papers, reports) and assists with research and analyses on a range of projects. She has experience in both clinical and basic science from her work in the private sector, as well as government and academic labs. Prior to joining RLA, she completed postdoctoral research on influenza vaccines at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. During her postdoctoral fellowship, she also worked as a scientific editor serving a range of disciplines in the scientific community. Dr. Sylvia earned her PhD in biology from Indiana University in Bloomington where she studied how the brain, endocrine system, and microbiome influence social behavior. While a graduate student, she taught and mentored students inside and outside the laboratory. She also worked as a clinical research associate in Boston on various oncology clinical trials immediately following her graduation from Stonehill College in Massachusetts with a BS degree in biology.
