Deputy Director, Scientific Research & Analysis Division

Dr. Walsh serves as Deputy Director of the Scientific Research & Analysis Division, providing leadership for projects including RLA’s logistics and writing support for the Tick-Borne Disease Working Group Federal Advisory Committee and ad hoc guidance for the Advisory Committee on Blood and Tissue Safety and Availability. She also worked extensively on the Continuous Innovation Indicators (CII)—a dynamic online platform that utilizes clinical trial data to track progress against cancer—curating real-time cancer data, ensuring data quality, and developing policy papers related to oncology issues at both national and international levels. Dr. Walsh has more than 15 years of experience in clinical research, health policy development, health care evaluation, and project management. In previous positions as a clinical epidemiologist and clinical research project manager at the Newfoundland & Labrador Eastern Health Authority, she utilized large-scale clinical and patient datasets to measure primary to tertiary clinical care and mental and community health outcomes. Dr. Walsh earned her BA and PhD (Graduate of Distinction) at Memorial University of Newfoundland. During her doctoral studies, she attended the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine as an International Visiting Graduate Student examining global public health and policy.
